Here's a little interview we did with him:
Name: Daniel Minty (lots of people just call me Minty)
Where are you from and where do you now live?: I'm originally from the Valleys (Abertillery and Blackwood) and I live in Cardiff now.
Job:: Community Development Officer with Menter Iaith Casnewydd. Woop! Woop!
What do you do?: I'm working with young people, families and the elderly across Newport to enable them to use their Cymraeg. I'm looking at opportunities in communities across Newport to take part in working with Menter to build new communities; making Menter Iaith Casnewydd more visible in Newport.
What do you enjoy about the job?:
I love meeting new people, new learners, chatting with people who have a real desire of the Welsh language. No day is the same. Everyone here has been very supportive of my own journey through the Welsh language as a learner myself. I'm in my element when I'm creating new opportunities and events to promote Menter and Cymraeg to communities across Newport.
Dislikes: Celery. No question about it. YUCK!
