Menter Iaith Casnewydd are looking for a Senior Playworker to lead our after school clubs (Clwbiau Sbort a Sbri) and to coordinate our holiday play clubs.

Senior Playworker 

Zero Hours Contract

16 hours per week, core hours [14.00-18.00], worked [Monday – Friday] 

£21,000 Pro rata

24 day Annual leave (pro rata) on top of statutory Bank Holidays

 

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role.

 

Menter Iaith Casnewydd are looking for a Senior Playworker to lead our after school clubs (Clwbiau Sbort a Sbri) and to coordinate our holiday play clubs.

 

Job Purpose:

•             To develop and maintain an enriched, effective, flexible and stimulating play environment.

•             To oversee planning for children and young peoples play

•             To oversee effective risk benefit management systems

•             To ensure compliance with the daycare regulations, with regard to the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Child Care.

 

Main Duties:      

•             Ensure an enriched, effective, flexible and stimulating play environment in which children are able to play freely is provided.

•             Co-ordinate and ensure collection of children from school/s

•             Oversee Planning and preparation of play including activities, preparation of environment and resources,  which meet their individual play needs.

•             Build effective and honest relationships with children and young people and their parents/carers.

•             Ensure risk assessments are carried out, where appropriate including undertaking risk:benefit assessments on children and young peoples play and supporting staff in this process.

•             Making links with the wider community in order to provide a range of opportunities for children and young people and to support the understanding of children’s right to play

•             Follow guidelines and procedures for Safeguarding as recommended by the registering authority.

•             Follow and review Club policies and procedures including safeguarding , health and safety, behaviour, emergency procedures, confidentiality as approved by the registering authority.

•             Ensure staff are following and engaged in policies and procedures and the review of these.

•             Ensure appropriate supervision of children and young people throughout the sessions

•             Administer First Aid as appropriate.

•             Ensure collection of children and young people by parent/carers working with policy guidelines

•             Ensure a range of suitable food and drink options are provided in line with policies and procedures

•             Any other job relevant duty required by the committee/owner/manager
